Securitize Capital becomes SEC-registered investment adviser
Securitize Capital, a unit of tokenized asset platform Securitize, has registered with the SEC as an investment adviser. This lets it expand regulated advisory services for institutional clients and adds to Securitize’s existing SEC-registered businesses, including a broker-dealer, alternative trading system, transfer agent, and fund administration services. The firm said the registration improves its ability to help institutions design and manage onchain investment strategies. As a registered adviser, it now faces stricter disclosure, compliance, recordkeeping, and examination requirements than when it operated as an exempt reporting adviser. Securitize remains the largest tokenization platform by onchain asset value, with about $4.8 billion tokenized across products from major asset managers such as BlackRock, Apollo, KKR, VanEck, and Hamilton Lane. It recently began trading on the NYSE under ticker SECZ after a merger.
