Bitcoin Red Team reports 5K findings in sweeping security audit

Summary

A 16-volunteer Bitcoin security group, Bitcoin Red Team, used AI tools plus human review to scan open-source Bitcoin projects and reported nearly 5,000 potential vulnerabilities. In its first 29.8 hours, the team found 4,962 issues across 390 projects, including as many as 720 high- or critical-severity findings. About 21.4% of the findings have been reproducible so far. The effort began just days after the Coldcard hardware wallet hack, which led to major Bitcoin thefts.
