Bitdeer signs $400M AI cloud computing deal for Malaysia facility
Summary
Bitdeer AI signed a five-year customer agreement for about half of the capacity at its A102 Malaysia facility before energization. The unnamed customer is described as high credit quality, and the deal is projected to generate about $400 million in total revenue. Revenue and related costs are expected to start in Q1 2027 when service begins. Bitdeer AI aims to reach 350 MW of AI cloud data center capacity by Q1 2028. The move reflects Bitdeer’s broader shift from Bitcoin mining into AI infrastructure and high-performance computing to diversify revenue. Earlier in August, Bitdeer also signed a 16-year, $4.7 billion lease for 121 MW of AI computing capacity in Norway. Bitdeer’s shares rose after the announcement.
