FBI Seizes $560K in Crypto Bound for Hamas, Takes Over Fundraising Sites
The FBI seized about $560,000 in cryptocurrency and took control of online infrastructure used to help Hamas solicit donations, according to the Justice Department. Prosecutors said the money was intended for Hamas’ military wing, the Al Qassam Brigades. Investigators traced and confiscated the assets under warrants dated March 25, June 25, and October 10, 2025. Court filings say an encrypted chat directed supporters to a donation site with rotating wallet addresses, and identified Bitcoin, Ethereum, Wrapped Ethereum, Tether, and Tron across 18 Tether-controlled addresses and three Binance accounts linked to terrorism financing. The action follows earlier efforts by U.S. and Israeli authorities to freeze Hamas-related crypto accounts and seize donation sites and servers. Officials said the operation shows that cryptocurrency and online platforms do not protect terrorist fundraising from law enforcement.
