Bitget says Bitcoin withdrawals are open after $387M hack, but ETH and USDT must wait
After a Sept. 24 security breach, Bitget reported unauthorized hot-wallet transfers, revising its estimated impact from $351.6 million to about $387.5 million. The exchange says customer balances are unaffected and its Protection Fund will cover losses. BTC and ETH futures trades were recorded on Sept. 28 while withdrawals remained suspended. Bitget has since reopened BTC withdrawals on the Bitcoin network as the first phase of a broader restart, but its notice does not confirm completed customer transfers. Futures order-book depth and trading activity show markets were operating, yet they do not demonstrate that users can withdraw funds. The next test is whether BTC transfers complete, followed by withdrawals for other assets and networks.
