Crypto Biz: CLARITY Act setback puts Coinbase in the spotlight
The CLARITY Act stalled in the Senate after failing to clear the 60-vote hurdle, sharply reducing its chances this year. Coinbase appears most exposed because the bill would shape US market-structure rules affecting exchange registration, listed assets, and platform access; Circle and Strategy face less direct impact. Markets sold off after the vote. Separately, Standard Chartered said Arbitrum could outperform major crypto assets by 2030 as traditional finance moves onchain, projecting ARB at $10 if tokenization grows as expected. Bitmine is turning its Ether treasury into a recurring income stream, with more than 5 million ETH staked and about $334 million in annualized staking revenue projected. Phemex’s CEO warned AI is worsening crypto security and draining liquidity, though others see AI as both a threat and a defense tool.
