Crypto PAC spends $11M to oppose Sherrod Brown in Ohio
A crypto-aligned PAC, Defend American Jobs, reported spending $11.4 million on ads supporting Republican Jon Husted and attacking Democrat Sherrod Brown in Ohio’s U.S. Senate race. The PAC is tied to Fairshake, which planned to spend $30 million in the race to help block Brown, a longtime critic of pro-crypto policy. Ohio was already a major battleground in 2024, when crypto-linked groups spent heavily against Brown and supported Republican Bernie Moreno, who won. Husted was appointed to the Senate after JD Vance resigned to become vice president. The broader crypto industry is also backing Ohio Republicans elsewhere, including gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy through major donations from industry figures and Trump family crypto-company co-founders.
