Crypto VC Giant Andreessen Horowitz Raises $15 Billion to Help America 'Win' Tech Race
Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) has raised over $15 billion across five venture funds to support American technology, representing more than 18% of all U.S. venture capital raised in 2025. These funds target sectors including American dynamism, apps, bio and health, infrastructure, growth, and other strategies. Co-founder Ben Horowitz emphasized the firm’s role in advancing key technologies, especially AI and crypto, for national and global benefit. While crypto was not specifically listed in this latest fundraise, a16z maintains significant investments in top crypto projects like Coinbase, Solana, and Uniswap, and has previously raised over $7 billion for crypto ventures since 2018. The firm asserts that maintaining U.S. technological leadership is critical for economic, military, and cultural strength globally.
