Dartmouth endowment’s crypto exposure drops by $2M amid falling prices
Summary
Dartmouth College’s $9 billion endowment saw the value of its crypto-related holdings fall by more than $2 million over three months. A June 30 SEC filing showed about $12.4 million invested across three ETFs: Bitwise Solana Staking ETF, Grayscale Ethereum Staking ETF, and BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin ETF. That was down from $14.6 million reported on March 31, a decline of roughly 15%, while the number of shares held in each fund stayed the same. The drop tracked weaker crypto prices during the period: Bitcoin fell 7.7%, Solana 9.6%, and Ether 10.8%. Dartmouth added crypto exposure to its endowment in 2025, becoming one of the first U.S. universities to invest in digital assets.
