Do Kwon Wins Second Chance to Appeal Extradition From Montenegro
Terraform Labs co-founder Do Kwon has won a second appeal against the Montenegro High Court's decision to uphold extradition requests from the U.S. and South Korea. Kwon had previously won an appeal in November, but the court upheld the extradition requests in December. His lawyer, Goran Rodic, claimed that local courts were under political pressure to push the extradition. Kwon's former CFO, Han Chang-Joon, was extradited to South Korea by Montenegrin authorities. Kwon was arrested in Montenegro last year for possession of falsified official documents and sentenced to four months in prison. His arrest followed the collapse of Terraform Labs' stablecoin TerraUSD in May 2022, which led to criminal charges against him in South Korea and the U.S.
