Drake Calls for Sam Bankman-Fried's Release in New, Critically Panned Album
Drake has returned from a period of relative absence by releasing three new albums at once, totaling 43 songs. One track, “Dust” from the album *Iceman*, references FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried and calls for his release, saying “Samuel Bankman, free all my guys up.” Drake also boasts of being a “BTC crypto big-timer.” The albums have received poor critical reviews, with The Guardian labeling them as “boring” and “bloated.” Bankman-Fried is serving a 25-year sentence for fraud related to his operations at FTX. Despite public efforts by Bankman-Fried’s family and himself to obtain a pardon from President Trump, the former president has said he does not plan to grant one, and politicians from the crypto industry oppose a pardon due to Bankman-Fried’s controversial reputation. Drake is also connected to crypto-related controversies, having faced lawsuits for promoting the offshore crypto casino Stake.
