Ethereum Treasury Firm SharpLink Stakes $170 Million of ETH on Linea
SharpLink Gaming, a publicly traded Ethereum treasury firm, has deployed $170 million in ETH to the Ethereum layer-2 network Linea to optimize on-chain yields. This move is part of SharpLink’s plan to stake up to $200 million in ETH, aiming for higher returns through re-staking with Eigen Cloud and incentives from EtherFi and Linea, alongside native ETH staking yields. SharpLink holds 864,840 ETH (about $2.7 billion), all managed via custodians. The deployment marks multiple industry firsts, such as institutional liquid staking and bridging within qualified custody, and aims to make SharpLink’s treasury the most productive ETH exposure. Following the announcement, the company’s shares rose by 1.4% on the day, though remain significantly below their October levels. SharpLink is also a Linea Consortium member and has strong ties to Consensys, which incubated Linea. Despite Linea’s token launch in September and a sharp drop in its total value locked, SharpLink plans further deals to maximize DeFi yields and drive institutional adoption, positioning Ethereum as a future foundation for global finance.
