Goldman Sachs to acquire ETF manager NEOS in $2.25B deal
Goldman Sachs agreed to acquire ETF manager NEOS Investments for up to $2.25 billion, expanding its ETF business with NEOS’s Bitcoin- and Ether-linked income funds. NEOS manages about $30 billion across 19 options-based income ETFs, including BTCI, XBCI, and NEHI, which use options strategies to generate monthly income while tracking Bitcoin or Ether exposure. The deal is expected to close in Q1 2027, pending regulatory approval, and NEOS’s founders and team will join Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Combined with its recent Innovator Capital Management purchase, Goldman said its global ETF platform will reach roughly $130 billion in assets, making it the eighth-largest active ETF manager. The move comes even as Goldman recently cut some of its own crypto ETF holdings, though it still held over $700 million in Bitcoin ETF positions.
