Hyperliquid in Talks With Kraken Parent to Bring Crypto Perps to US Traders
Hyperliquid is in advanced talks with Kraken’s parent company, Payward, to offer some of its crypto perpetual futures to U.S. traders through Payward’s Bitnomial, a regulated U.S. exchange and clearinghouse. The plan would mark Hyperliquid Labs’ first move into the U.S. market and could serve as a model for other offshore crypto venues seeking U.S. access. Any launch would need regulatory approval, and Payward has already presented a structure to the CFTC. The route through Bitnomial would address regulators’ main concern: Hyperliquid’s decentralized, permissionless setup lacks a central operator and oversight. The discussions come amid broader U.S. efforts to bring offshore perpetual futures trading onto domestic platforms, following comments from President Trump that his administration was working to bring Hyperliquid onshore.
