India’s Arya.ag to put grain ownership records on Avalanche
Arya.ag is testing tokenized warehouse receipts for stored grain on a dedicated Avalanche layer-1 blockchain, working with Finternet to link grain deposits, receipts, collateral pledges and loan status. Each tokenized receipt is intended to represent ownership of the underlying commodity. Finternet will combine farmer, commodity, warehouse and insurance data into a “composite token” that lenders can use to assess collateral risk. Arya.ag says it stores about $2 billion in agricultural commodities and supports about 120 billion rupees ($1.26 billion) in annual loans, while its lending arm Arya Dhan issues about $230 million a year; these figures describe its existing business, not onchain assets. No launch date or initial scale was disclosed. The system is meant to strengthen warehouse-backed lending by giving banks a shared record of inventory, ownership, pledges and outstanding debt, but it still depends on accurate verification of physical grain.
