Kraken Parent Payward Joins Glasswing, Gets Access to Claude Mythos to Hunt Security Flaws
Kraken parent Payward has joined Anthropic’s Project Glasswing and gained access to Claude Mythos 5 to scan its systems for security flaws. Findings will be reviewed by Payward’s security team, and vulnerabilities in third-party open-source software will be reported to maintainers. It is the first reported crypto company in the program. The move follows an open letter from more than 40 crypto and Bitcoin firms urging frontier AI labs to give trusted defenders access to powerful models for cybersecurity. Project Glasswing is Anthropic’s vetted cyber program, and partners have reportedly found thousands of high- or critical-severity vulnerabilities. The development reflects growing concern that AI can both uncover and exploit software weaknesses, and supports the broader push to use frontier AI to protect crypto and open-source financial infrastructure.
