Ledger asks resellers to halt sales in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong
Summary
Ledger asked resellers in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Hong Kong to suspend sales and remove its hardware wallets while it investigates reports of tampered devices. The company says confirmed incidents remain limited to Southeast Asia and that it has not verified any crypto drain involving devices bought elsewhere. The investigation is examining who tampered with the wallets and where in the distribution chain. Ledger also said it has no indication that its systems, services or direct sales channel were compromised. Reports first became public on Oct. 9, after crypto thefts were linked to devices bought through reseller CryptoBilis; users elsewhere have since reported suspected tampering.
