LG, Arbitrum launch blockchain-based bid for $679B ad market
LG Electronics is working with Arbitrum to build a blockchain-based digital advertising network. The goal is to create a shared database for ad inventory and track user interactions, while reducing intermediaries in ad buying and selling. LG says it is evaluating whether the system can deliver value to advertisers, publishers, and audiences, and may bring it to market this year. The approach aims to make ad transactions more automated, efficient, and transparent. The effort comes as digital ad spending remains enormous, with traditional ad networks often relying on costly middlemen. Arbitrum’s token rose after the news. LG has explored blockchain and crypto for years, including an enterprise blockchain project, a crypto wallet, and an NFT platform, both of which were later shut down.
