Ravencoin hits record low as network exploit puts transactions at risk

Summary

Ravencoin fell to an all-time low after a consensus exploit exposed the network to invalid blocks, putting several days of transactions at risk and causing exchanges to suspend RVN transfers. The token dropped to $0.002754, about 22% below its daily high, before recovering slightly. Trading volume surged during the sell-off. Ravencoin said vulnerable nodes accepted invalid blocks beginning at block height 4,487,776, with the flaw later reproduced on mainnet. Major mining pools 2Miners and RavenMiner are building an alternative chain that excludes the exploited branch. If that chain becomes dominant, the network could face a reorganization of roughly three days, potentially reversing transactions confirmed after block 4,487,775. The project advised exchanges to pause deposits and withdrawals until the chain stabilizes. Upbit and Bitget suspended RVN transfers.
