Ripple And Arf Target The Short Funding Gap Behind Cross-Border Payments
Ripple and Arf plan to use RLUSD to provide short-term working capital to licensed payment firms, bridging delays between outgoing payments and incoming settlement. Arf says its existing business handles $10 billion in annual settlement activity, but that figure is not a disclosed RLUSD lending pool or XRP purchase commitment. The arrangement’s success will depend on borrower underwriting and timely repayment, not blockchain transfers alone. The plan is staged: integration with proposed XRPL lending features does not mean those features are already live. Loan amounts, transaction fees, account reserves and XRP demand are distinct measures. Key evidence to watch includes financing outstanding, repayment performance and the payment corridors served.
