Ripple launches Mint to expand institutional access to RLUSD

Summary

Ripple launched Ripple Mint, a unified platform for institutions to access, mint, redeem, and manage its dollar-pegged stablecoin, RLUSD. The service offers both a web interface and direct API integrations, aiming to support manual workflows and automated use cases. Ripple says the platform is designed for institutional stablecoin use in payments, trading, and treasury operations. RLUSD launched in December 2024 with an institutional focus but has also attracted retail users. It has grown quickly into one of the largest U.S. dollar stablecoins, reaching the top 10 within a year. Its market cap hit an all-time high of over $1.8 billion on June 1, 2026, and was about $1.59 billion around the launch of Ripple Mint, ranking ninth among USD-pegged stablecoins.
