Samsung Wallet plans stablecoin support in digital payments expansion

Summary

Samsung plans to expand Samsung Wallet beyond payments by adding stablecoin support, combining payments, rewards, and digital assets in one app. At Galaxy Unpacked, product manager Lee Dinham said Wallet will include “new forms of digital value,” positioning Samsung as one of the first major mobile brands to bring native stablecoins to smartphones for fast digital transfers. The company has not revealed which stablecoins it will support, when the feature will launch, or who its partners will be. The move builds on Samsung’s broader crypto push, including an expanded Coinbase partnership that lets US Galaxy users buy crypto directly through Samsung Wallet.
