ElizaOS token sinks 19% to record low after founder declares it ‘dead’
ElizaOS fell 19% in 24 hours to a record low after founder Shaw Walters said the token was “dead” and that the Eliza Foundation was being wound down. It traded near $0.000285 with a market cap of about $2.1 million after hitting an all-time low of $0.000284. Walters said he no longer owns or supports the token, and that Eliza’s open-source software will continue without any token or foundation backing. He said Eliza Labs privately settled with tokenholders tied to a lawsuit by giving them the remaining treasury and funds, claiming the project lacked money to keep fighting. He also said there would be no more buybacks or future supply support, and that he would never back another Eliza-linked token. The project had previously risen as AI16Z, reaching a $2.5 billion market cap in January 2025 before rebranding to ElizaOS.
