Status Quo At Binance: New CEO Affirms No Changes To Top Executives
Binance Holdings has experienced a significant leadership change following a $4.3 billion settlement with the US Department of Justice (DOJ). Co-founder Changpeng "CZ" Zhao has stepped down and Richard Teng has been appointed as CEO. Despite the change in leadership, Teng reassured that Binance's core team will remain intact and continues the company's commitment to stability. In addition, the settlement addressed admission of anti-money laundering and sanctions violations by Binance and its co-founder. Teng also faces the decision of selecting a formal headquarters for Binance and establishing a board of directors. Despite the change, Binance remains debt-free with robust revenues and profits. The firm still faces a lawsuit from the US Securities and Exchange Commission and will continue to submit reports and be monitored for compliance.
