Trump joked at the White House Correspondents’ dinner about running for a “fourth term” in 2028, even though the 22nd Amendment bars a president from being elected more than twice. Prediction markets give almost no chance that term limits change soon. At the same time, wallets tied to the Official Trump memecoin moved 10.84 million TRUMP tokens, worth about $16.9 million, likely through BitGo toward exchanges; no sale is confirmed. The move fits a broader pattern: project-linked wallets have shifted about 48.25 million TRUMP, worth roughly $172 million, over five months as the token has fallen more than 66% from recent levels and trades near $1.55. The project says it is building liquidity and ecosystem support while retaining plans to deploy, sell, or distribute unlocked tokens. TRUMP’s collapse from a January 2025 peak near $75 has left many buyers underwater, while the team also uses holder rewards and event access to encourage longer-term ownership.
