Senator Bernie Moreno said the group will brief Trump on the bill’s progress and path forward, and Senator Cynthia Lummis is also expected to attend. Lawmakers are trying to resolve remaining issues and pass the bill before the Senate’s August recess, which many see as the last realistic chance before the midterm elections. Senator Thom Tillis said he hopes for an agreement by the end of the week. A revised draft is expected soon, with Lummis saying it could reach the Senate floor next week. Prediction markets are increasingly optimistic about a Senate vote before recess, but less confident the bill becomes law this year.
