Where did Trump Media’s 5,278 BTC go? Trackers spot $165 million Bitcoin transfer leaving just 3.43 BTC
Trump Media & Technology Group moved 2,628 BTC on Aug. 2, adding to a previously reported May 22 transfer of about 2,650 BTC. Together, the two movements total 5,278 BTC, which is within 3.43 BTC of the 5,281.43 BTC remaining after subtracting March 31 convertible-note collateral from Trump Media’s reported 9,542.16 BTC treasury. That arithmetic suggests a possible match to the March residual, but it does not prove a sale or full disposal. Blockchain labels are not custody records, and a Crypto.com-linked destination could also reflect a custody transfer. Trump Media had said Crypto.com and Anchorage Digital would provide custody, and it also separately disclosed 2,000 BTC pledged in covered-call arrangements whose post-expiry status is unclear. The central uncertainty remains Trump Media’s current liquid Bitcoin balance, the fate of the transferred coins, and whether any other purchases, sales, or custody changes occurred in between.
