ZetaChain holders approve plan to wind down L1, move ZETA to Solana
ZetaChain tokenholders approved winding down the project’s layer-1 blockchain and moving ZETA to Solana. Governance proposal 68 passed with 99.4% support and enough turnout to exceed quorum. ZETA will be converted 1:1 into an SPL token with the same ticker and supply, but the vote does not yet start shutdown or migration. A follow-up proposal will define the withdrawal window, snapshot height, shutdown schedule, claim process, and exchange conversion period; validators and staking rewards continue during transition. The shift reflects ZetaChain’s pivot away from maintaining its Cosmos SDK chain toward its AI-focused product, Anuma, and its Private Memory Layer. The project joins others, such as BounceBit and Harmony, that are also retiring standalone chains after exploits and strategic pivots.
