The coins were first received on January 31, 2014, when Bitcoin traded below $1,000, and were swept to a new address in block 961845 on August 10 at 07:03 UTC. Based on an average cost near $803 per coin, the move implies about $1.73 million in unrealized gain, roughly a 7,975% return. The transfer does not prove a sale, but moving funds to a fresh address can precede consolidation or eventual exchange placement. The awakening fits a broader trend of long-dormant Bitcoin wallets reactivating more often in recent years. Another old wallet holding 49.97 BTC since 2011 moved last week, and 2024 saw large dormant-wallet movements, including a $2 billion session and other major whale transfers.
