Binance joins STOP THE TRAFFIK in anti-human trafficking effort
Binance partnered with nonprofit STOP THE TRAFFIK to improve detection and investigation of cryptocurrency activity tied to human trafficking and child exploitation. Through the group’s Centre for Intelligence-Led Prevention, Binance will receive specialized intelligence, training, and insights to identify criminal typologies and strengthen illicit-finance investigations. The deal also includes intelligence sharing and staff training to enhance compliance and financial-crime monitoring. The move comes as Binance faces continued scrutiny over sanctions controls. The exchange recently denied allegations that Iran-linked entities moved large sums through its platform, saying any cited activity reflected outdated information and that it follows applicable sanctions laws. Human trafficking remains a major global crime, generating hundreds of billions in illicit proceeds annually.
