'Bunker mode' crypto shift forces custodians to rethink multi-chain key management
Summary
Project Eleven and privacy-focused blockchain Quantus plan to integrate Quantus with Project Eleven’s Strongpoint institutional custody platform in the first quarter of 2027. The integration is intended to let institutions manage Quantus keys and approve transactions using hardware security modules, internal controls and audit systems. The companies say custody systems must adapt to differing post-quantum standards as networks such as Bitcoin and Ethereum develop migration plans. Quantus uses the NIST-selected ML-DSA signature standard. The timing of quantum computers capable of breaking current cryptography remains uncertain, but the firms argue institutions should prepare for a transition before an emergency arises.
