Crypto projects apply for Anthropic’s new frontier AI security scanner

Ethereum client developer Nethermind, Bitcoin and Lightning wallet ZEUS, and Cosmos-based VirtEngine have applied to Anthropic’s new OSS Scanner program. It uses powerful AI models, including Claude Mythos, to scan open-source code and send vulnerability reports to participating projects without waiting for the usual manual review. Anthropic will assess applicants based on infrastructure importance, security exposure and number of dependent users or projects. The applications had not been approved at publication. Crypto firms are seeking AI security support amid reports of increasingly capable attacks and concerns that AI could help attackers find and exploit vulnerabilities faster than developers can fix them.
