Crypto Trading Firm Kronos Research Offers 10% Bounty to Hacker

Summary

Taipei-based cryptocurrency firm, Kronos Research, has offered to negotiate with a hacker who stole $25 million from the company's treasury. In a message sent via Etherscan, Kronos proposed the hacker return 90% of the stolen funds to drop the issue. The company has confirmed losses of around $26 million in crypto assets, but assures that all losses will be covered internally and no partners will be impacted. It's noted that on-chain negotiations have become a common strategy, with other recent victims offering similar bounties to recover stolen funds. More than $1.2 billion has reportedly been stolen from Decentralized Finance (DeFi) protocols this year.
