Hayden Adams: From Ethereum Idealist to Business Realist at Uniswap
Uniswap was created in 2018 by Hayden Adams, who was introduced to crypto by Karl Floersch. After losing his job as a mechanical engineer, Adams learned to code and built a prototype for an automated market maker (AMM), a decentralized protocol to swap assets. His prototype, Uniswap, caught the attention of Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum. Today, Uniswap is one of the largest and most successful DeFi projects, with over $3.9 billion committed to the platform. However, it has been subject to controversy, particularly regarding its sanctions on Tornado Cash and its release under a "Business Source License". Despite this, Uniswap has a significant influence in the crypto industry and continues to develop, with its latest version, V4, expected by the end of the year.
