KyberSwap Hacker Demands Full Control, Sets December 10th Deadline
Decentralized exchange aggregator KyberSwap suffered a security breach, with a hacker stealing around $54.7 million. The attacker reportedly borrowed ether, performed a series of strategic swaps and manipulations in the KyberSwap pool, and profited from a reverse swap. The vulnerability that allowed this breach was due to a miscalculation in the KyberSwap system. Days after, the hacker issued a series of demands, including complete control over KyberSwap, authority over the company's governance mechanism, and surrender of all assets. The hacker made promises to buy out executives, double employee salaries, and provide severance packages for leaving employees. The hacker also assured investors their tokens' value would recover, and even proposed to transform Kyber into a new crypto project. The hacker's demands are due to be met by December 10th. The leaders of KyberSwap have yet to respond.
