MEXC pulls out of four countries despite ambitious plan to rival global trading giants
Summary
MEXC will phase out services for French customers, restricting accounts in batches from Nov. 18, closing open positions on Jan. 22, 2027, and ending withdrawals on March 5. Remaining assets will go to a custodian that has not yet been named. The exit follows moves away from the Netherlands, Russia and Belarus and comes amid regulatory pressure, including France’s 2024 blacklist and MiCA authorization requirements. Meanwhile, CEO Vugar Usi is expanding MEXC beyond crypto into tokenized stocks, commodities and other markets. The exchange reports rising trading in tokenized equities and is exploring a potential partnership with Kraken parent Payward, but no deal has been finalized.
