Paul Tudor Jones' Firm Buys Back Into BlackRock Bitcoin ETF After a Year of Selling
Tudor Investment increased its position in BlackRock’s spot Bitcoin ETF, the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), ending a year-long selling trend. As of June 30, it held 688,529 shares worth about $22.9 million, up 18.9% from 579,083 shares in March. The added 109,446 shares remain far below Tudor’s late-2024 peak of more than 8 million IBIT shares, which it reduced through 2025. The firm also sharply cut its IBIT call options, reducing them by about 85% to the equivalent of 148,000 shares, while puts stayed roughly unchanged. That suggests a shift from leveraged exposure toward direct spot holdings. Paul Tudor Jones has long framed Bitcoin as a hedge against inflation and currency debasement. The move comes amid renewed institutional interest in spot Bitcoin ETFs, with IBIT still dominating the market at about 49% of U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF assets.
