Ripple adds Stripe-owned wallets to XRP Ledger as AI payments pass 14 million

Summary

Ripple is integrating Stripe-owned Privy’s wallet infrastructure with the XRP Ledger, enabling apps and AI agents to create wallets and pay with XRP, RLUSD and other network assets without users managing keys. Developers can use the wallets for automated payments, including through the x402 standard. XRPL data cited in the report shows more than 14.3 million transactions across 169 merchants, but recorded payments totaled only about 6,991 XRP and 12,752 RLUSD, suggesting many are small per-request transactions. Ripple and Privy plan to add policy controls and tools to cover network fees. New XRPL accounts still need a minimum 1 XRP reserve to activate.
