The Algorand Foundation Expands Its Footprint in India

Blockchain protocol firm Algorand (ALGO) is extending its presence in India through partnerships with NASSCOM, TiE Bangalore, and the Mann Deshi Foundation. Algorand's CEO, Staci Warden, and India Country Head, Anil Kakani, revealed plans to develop NASSCOM's FutureSkills Prime skilling hub’s Web3 capabilities and create a blockchain-based credit scorecard for Mann Deshi's entrepreneurs. They are also working with TiE Bangalore to boost educational initiatives in India’s Web3 ecosystem. Additionally, Algorand is not advising regulators but is awaiting the introduction of India's central bank digital currency to plan potential build-outs. Algorand's existing relationship with startup supporter T-Hub will now include a mentorship program for 20 Web3 startups. Finally, a pilot has been launched with Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) to assist women in earning high-value carbon credits via blockchain-based solutions.
