Coinbase Files to List Single-Stock Perps on Apple, Tesla and Nvidia
Coinbase has filed with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to list single-stock perpetual futures in the U.S., aiming to give traders leveraged price exposure to individual equities without owning the shares. The proposed contracts would be “perps,” meaning they have no expiration date and can be held as long as margin and funding requirements are met. Coinbase says this is its first set of U.S. single-stock perpetuals and wants 24/5 trading access. Reportedly, the launch could include 50 to 60 stocks such as Apple, Microsoft, Tesla, and Nvidia if approved. The move expands Coinbase’s U.S. derivatives business after it became the first U.S. exchange cleared for regulated crypto perpetual futures. The products would not provide shareholder rights, dividends, or ownership.
