DATA Foundation (ex-Story Protocol) keeps insider tokens locked past deadline with no new unlock date
DATA Foundation said on June 25 that team and lead investors extended their token lockups by 18 months, so tokens that had been scheduled to begin unlocking on Aug. 13 did not unlock on that date. The prior public schedule had already delayed the first unlock from Feb. 13 to Aug. 13, 2026, using a smart-contract mechanism, but the June update did not give a new release date, specify when the 18-month period starts, identify affected wallets, or disclose how the extension is enforced. The earlier February change postponed the initial unlock and all later vesting by six months while leaving supply, allocations and ownership unchanged. The June post renamed Story Foundation to DATA Foundation, Story Network to DATA Network, and $IP to $DATA. It did not mention changes to community allocations, staking rewards or broader emissions. The next unlock date and exact scope remain undisclosed.
