Deutsche Bank targets Asia crypto custody expansion in 2027 as German launch nears
Summary
Deutsche Bank plans to expand its crypto custody service to Asia in 2027, after an expected German launch in the coming weeks, subject to regulatory approval. The service will let corporate and institutional clients hold and transfer crypto, initially supporting bitcoin, ether and selected stablecoins. The bank also plans stablecoin conversion, tokenized deposits and tools for issuing blockchain-based securities. Its German custody authorization was listed by ESMA under MiCA. The Asian expansion is part of a broader digital-assets strategy as banks compete to serve institutional clients; Deutsche Bank has worked with Bitpanda and Taurus and joins firms including Standard Chartered and BBVA in crypto custody.
