Emirates enables UAE residents to pay for flights through Crypto.com

Summary

Emirates has added Crypto.com Pay to its website and app, letting eligible UAE residents book flights with cryptocurrency. On mobile, users are redirected to the Crypto.com app to approve payment from their wallet; on desktop, they scan a QR code at checkout. Emirates receives payment in UAE dirhams, while Crypto.com converts the crypto. The airline said the feature fits the habits of younger, digitally native customers who book and manage travel on their phones. The launch follows a partnership announced in July 2025 and may be supported by Crypto.com’s UAE central bank Stored Value Facilities license. Emirates did not say whether the service will expand beyond eligible UAE residents. Air Arabia already accepts the dirham-backed AE Coin stablecoin for bookings.
