MoonPay vault enables ChatGPT and Claude users to authorize crypto transactions
MoonPay launched PayBox, a payment vault that lets ChatGPT and Claude users authorize AI to buy crypto, swap tokens, bridge assets, and interact with DeFi through natural-language prompts while keeping user control over funds. Users connect a wallet and payment methods, then approve transactions with a passkey or set spending and permission limits so certain actions can run automatically. PayBox uses multi-party computation and trusted execution environments so neither the AI assistant nor MoonPay can independently access wallet keys or user funds. It supports multiple blockchains and payment methods, including debit cards, bank accounts, Apple Pay, and PayPal, and offers an SDK for developers to add the vault to their own AI apps. The platform also supports x402, an open payment protocol for AI agents that has been gaining adoption across the ecosystem.
