TRON USDT supply hits $87.9B as transfers reach $2.1T in Q2: Messari
TRON ended Q2 with $87.9 billion in circulating USDT, overtaking Ethereum, and handled $2.1 trillion in USDT transfers. USDT made up 98.5% of TRON’s stablecoin supply, which rose 4.1% quarter over quarter to a record $89.2 billion. Network usage also hit record levels: average daily transactions climbed 8.7% to 11.8 million, active addresses rose 11.7% to 3.6 million, and daily USDT volume recovered to $22.8 billion. Higher activity lifted fees 15.9% to $699.4 million, the first quarterly increase after a prior governance-driven decline. However, DeFi remained weak, with TVL down 1.9% to $4.4 billion and daily DEX volume falling 21.7% to $49.3 million. TRX supply continued to expand, adding 87 million tokens. Institutional access broadened through tokenized fund issuance, asset consideration by Grayscale, new trading venues, and staking/custody support.
