X sues Bitcoin account operators over alleged $278K payout fraud
X has sued alleged operators of a Bitcoin-focused account network in the High Court of England and Wales, seeking to recover at least £278,000 in creator payouts tied to suspected engagement manipulation. The company says Vivek Kumar Sen, Zamyang Sherpa, and unidentified others coordinated multiple accounts to inflate likes, reposts, and replies, creating fake engagement and obtaining money from X’s former creator revenue-sharing program. The lawsuit links six monetized accounts to the two defendants and says additional accounts helped boost the activity. X suspended the accounts on Aug. 18 for creator revenue-sharing fraud and platform manipulation. It also claims at least £75,000 in investigation and remediation costs, bringing total alleged losses to at least £282,384 before interest and legal fees. X shut down the old revenue-sharing program in September and replaced it with Original Content Rewards.
