Bessent’s top crypto adviser Tyler Williams exits US Treasury: Report
Tyler Williams, a senior Treasury official who oversaw digital asset policy and advised Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, has left the department. Bessent said Williams’ last day was Friday and credited him with helping advance the Trump administration’s goal of making the US the “crypto capital of the world.” Williams joined Treasury in early 2025 after leading policy at Galaxy Digital and played a central role in shaping the administration’s crypto agenda. He is expected to return to the private sector. His departure comes as Congress remains stuck on the CLARITY Act, a digital asset market structure bill that has stalled over ethics provisions and needs bipartisan support to clear the Senate. Delays could keep regulatory uncertainty elevated and pressure digital asset prices.
